Very nice… Looks like yours has a cuben floor?

Sounds like a good option for SL-5 users who don't want the heavy nest. Looks like 17 oz for 30D sil and 13 oz (!) for a cuben floor. That's almost 2 POUNDS less than the GoLite nest, which weighs 2 lb 11 oz. Not bad! Smaller nest obviously, but in line with how a lot of people seem to use the SL-5.

yes mine is cuben .51 / nanoseeum and weights 340g / 12oz including 5 linelocs and a few webbings that could be be removed to shave a few 1/10oz

using hiking poles it gives me a 3 people shelter weighting 1300g / 46oz including stakes , stuff sacs , etc…

Just came home for lunch and found my Bear Paw Wilderness Designs Minimalist Bivy waiting. Nice quality work! It came with two lines with hooks and line tensioners already attached at the head and foot pull outs. Weighs 9 ounces on my scale. I got the silnylon semi bathtub floor. Very roomy for me at 5'7". Good quality YYK zipper. The nano-see-um mesh is a very high quality. I am super stoked about this bivy. As soon as the rain lets up i am gonna get out and take some pictures for this thread!

Anyone have a good suggestion for a 2 person bug inner for a Shangri La 2? Was thinking the Aplinlite Gear 2 but they arent taking orders it seems. I have a Bearpaw Pyra 1 and I like the quality. What would work from them under a S-2?

Nice inner tents!

I just ordered one of bearpaw's inner net tents the other day for my new MLD Trailstar. I'll have to contribute a photo to this thread once it arrives.

NIcholas, what inner did you get? Please say the new Pentanet!

I've got a PyraNet 2 that I used under the Trailstar during a trip to Glacier this past summer.

Edit for sidestory: We had a REALLY bad storm move in from behind us. Luckily, the trees sheltered us a bit. It was bad enough that when we met people on the trail the next day and we mentioned we came from Boulder Pass, they all said something to the effect of "Wow, you were up there for THAT storm? Everything ok?" And see the scree field to the right? The storm produced a rockslide that made me worry if we'd be crushed. Literally. I heard rocks tumbling down into the grass. People in neighboring tent sites actually yelled out that night to make sure we were ok.

Yeah Travis, I've got the new pentanet 2 on order.

EDIT: the iPad keeps changing pentanet to pentameter! Freakin' technology…

Nicholas,
I'm VERY interested to see pictures of that setup. Please post some pics and your thoughts on this setup. My one gripe about the PyraNet 2 was that it was a bit cramped. It was well made and served the purpose just fine, but my fiancee and I do like our space.

The trick to building an inner for the Trailstar is that it can be pitched in multiple shapes. How does the inner cope with the different pitches?

@Kris I'd setup the SL-2, get measurements, and ask John at BPWD… If he doesn't have something that works stock, he's been willing to do custom work at a very reasonable price.

Roger that. Not only are the prices fair, but John is great to work with.

I want pretty much the same thing. Will the stock pyranet 3 fit? I would need the extended version since I am 6'5" tall. If it does fit I still can't figure out where to put the door given the description on the website "center left", "center right"…. Center of WHAT?? Anyway I would have ordered one this week if I could just figure out what configuration I need order so that it fits.
