I am considering buying a new pack in the near future, and the Macpac 35 Amp is definitely a contender. However, when I look at the pack on the Macpac site (http://www.macpac.co.nz/products/display/catalogue/do,displayitem-view/mid,/miid,4361/diid,869/),
the description does not list the “puku” pouches mentioned in the BPL review (http://www.backpackinglight.com/cgi-bin/backpackinglight/macpac_35_amp_backpack_review.html).
From the picture on the Macpac site, it looks like the front pockets have been moved to the hip belt. Does Macpac offer the original puch design as an option? I emailed Macpac about this a few days ago and have not yet received a response.
