I thought this was pretty neat for ultralight backpackers who feel a need to carry a phone along:

It’s basic and doesn’t have the best battery life in the world, but seems a perfect fit for a lightweight backpacker that just wants basic call/text functionality.  The 3-day battery life can be conserved by keeping it turned off, and if you carry a power bank anyways, this can be recharged easily using that (and only takes 220mAh to recharge).

I wonder how the reception is? It might be okay for a town phone for a through-hiker, but the ability to make a connection with a weak signal is important. It is indeed light.
