I found my least used Camelback was sporting a nasty little mildew colony in the middle of it’s hose. I’m planning on giving it a good scrubbing with a .22 rifle cleaning rod and a nylon brush but replacement may be needed.

Stopping at Home Depot I found 10 feet of food/water grade vinyl tubing for $1.89.It is 3/8″ OD and 1/4″ ID and it seems to work OK. It is stiffer than the original Camelback hose.

Has anyone else found a good DIY replacement short of spending 12 dollars?

You can get food grade tubing from pet stores (aquarium tubing) and wine beer making stores. usually runs about .50$ a foot.
