Thanks for the useful insight. Looks like 'mids are more robust than I thought.

Regarding the Stevenson Warmlite: Having the vestibule in along with the main tent body concerns me as well. The Morpho 2P tents that will be used in Alaska have the same problem. $550+ for a tent is getting pretty crazy so I figured it may make a cool MYOG project sometime. Modify it with a second door separating a floorless vestibule, a hybrid 1.5 wall design like Tarptents with liners, zippered weather vents covered with mesh, and it may be a pretty neat UL 4 season all weather mountaineering tent.
