I wanted something to stabilize my canister stove a bit. I always get visions of being scalded by a tipped pot of boiling water. I bought a Brunton canister stand, to find that it doesn't fit all the different canisters. I found the MSR Universal Canister Stand and I think it is a winner. They designed a sliding lock with a strong spring that automatically adjusts for the canister size. Clever.

It is made of stainless steel and the legs swivel on rivets; the lock is plastic. When open, the legs cover a 9" circle and raises the bottom of the canister about 5/8". There are stops to set the open legs and only two of the three need to swivel. It is 5 inches long when closed and weighs 1.2oz. Construction, fit and finish are excellent.
