Used it once while backpacking in Virginia. I think I actually heard the mosquitos giggling as they bit me. Didn't use it again.
I don't think that it is nearly as strong as DEET, but it is better than nothing.
Some people are really sensitive to certain chemicals, so they need to use mild stuff like this and let the mosquitos dine as they wish.

For what it is worth, Consumer Reports rated it 6th behind 4 containing DEET and one containing eucalyptus oil.
I might actually still have mine from last year. If I do, give me an address and I'll send it to you. You can try it out for yourself.
Let you know tonight when I get home.
It seemed to work pretty well for me the one time I tried it, but the bugs weren't nearly as bad as when I used the eucalyptus oil, which kept the bugs off of me quite well. I was probably lucky, and using Natrapel in an area where the bugs weren't used to bug repellents :)

I have used it before and I think it works pretty good and is a good DEET alternative but I think Eucalyptus oil works ALOT better. Living in Florida there is one thing I know and thats Mosquito's. I personally prefer to wear Eucalytus Oil since it works just as good as something like 50% DEET. 100% DEET is the best but your wearing a pesticide invented for farming in the 1940's which is around the time Asbestos was getting popular so I don't think long term studies were top on the list of priorities… From what I understand, DEET is known to effect the central nervous system plus I am sure its more likely to cause skin cancer then the sun so I try not to wear a whole lot of it and use Eucalyptus oil any chance I can get… I have actually been thinking of buying it in bulk and selling it in 1oz bottles since the only way you can currently buy the stuff is by the 4oz bottle.
