Anyone try out the new Patagonia Wool 2 line? I noticed that a few people purchased their items but haven’t mentioned anything about them yet. Any first-hand information from owners? I love Patagonia products and am intrigued by their new wool. Any information? Thanks!

I have both the Wool 2 Crew and the Bottoms.

I will try mine out in a week or so on a hike in Georgia if it is cool enough. I wore them in my hammock about a week ago when it got all the way down to 66 degrees (F). They kept me very warm but 66 is not much of a test. It may get down to 58 tonight and if it does I will be back out in my hammock (outside) in the morning with them on.

I haven’t purchases any myself, but my local outfitter recently received a shipment. I went to check them out and they felt very similar in softness and thickness to my Ibex Woolies…about 18.5 microns in thickness.

As soon as my current stuff wears out, I’ll probably take a look at the new stuff from Patagonia.

We did a short Spotlite in April on a Wool 2 base layer. See the Spotlite review section and scroll down to April.

I’ve had one for 7 months and am quite happy with it. Performance and weight are similar to the other wool base layers, but I prefer the trim cut of the Patagonia line. Also, I am personally pleased to see Patagonia paying attention to the processing of the wool and the side effects to the environment.

I wore the wool 2 for 9 days climbing and mtn. biking around central Oregon, it was in the 20’s in the am and 50’s later, works well, doesn’t stink, athletic cut [well it fit better at the end of the trip which means I needed the cut]… I also used a pair of their wool 1/4 socks for riding and in my rock shoes, 9 days isn’t enough to say much there.
