Sometimes there is a number in ( ) beside the number of replies to a post. It seems to come and go. What does it signify?

Daryl, I don't honestly know. It took me a bit to find an example of what you were talking about but I can't put my finger on what it means.
The first number is the number of replies. The second is the number of replies worth reading…… ;-)
The first number is the total number of replies, the number in parentheses is the number of replies since your last visit (new replies).
Thanks for the effort, humor and info.
I'm still laughing about the possibility that the computer could determine which of the replies are worth reading. Now that would be a program!
Ben,
I've been cruising the postings with my new found knowledge of the number in the ( ).
Wow, that is a really helpful feature. Saves me looking at the date and time and trying to remember when I was last here.
Thanks again for explaining it.
Daryl
Daryl,
There is also that link over at the side of the page that says New Posts Since Last Visit.
That page just groups all the new posts into one area.
Ben,
Yes, that's helpful too.
Thanks,
Daryl
