Hey Jack,
I picked one up a few years back. It works well enough for the person who is out there to backpack first and fish second (which I am). I don't think a fisherman would take it very seriously. It has its limitations casting more than 30 feet. I caught a 14 inch rainbow at Emigrant Lake and it was fun challenge to bring it in. Overall, I would recommend it.
I just bought one, untill I can afford a Kentera rod, (I hope I spelled that right)to go fishing with. Hey did you see my other post for a Dewey Point hike?
