I’ve never used spectra line before and don’t know if it will be ok to fuse the cut ends to keep it from fraying, like what is done with nylon cord. My situation is that I bought an MLD tarp and it came with the kevlar/nylon blend cord that Ron uses and I would like to cut it to length. I was hoping someone here had experience with this and could let me know, since Ron seems to be out of town at the moment.

Not only is it OK to fuse the ends on Spectra and Kevlar etc, but you will quickly find you HAVE to, or the string will unravel badly!
But do it quickly and gently, as the string does shrivel fast. A soldering iron may not be enough; a BIC lighter works great.
