So, Big Sky has been selling a "super ultra light" solo, freestanding dome tent with plenty of interior space plus 2 doors and 2 vestibules — weighing in at just 1.5lbs. The catch? $650.

So, has anybody purchased one?

Ben,
But for the lighter weight, that looks like the tent that was recently reviewed on this site.
What am I missing?
IMO, with this outfit, see in person before you buy. For example, have seen many other pix of this tent that look no where near as taut as this one.

I 'think' Big sky omits some things to get that weight, best to check. That shape looks iffy to me also, too much area for those poles.

had a look at the website , looks like their weight claims are OK, might be a good tent, although netting won't stop condensation.

The photo depicted is the silnylon model (I own a Mirage 2P which I love). I am curious if we have any big spenders / owners of the cuben version around here…

This would be the kind of thing I'd buy just for kicks to see how it worked out, but I've read far, far too many negative comments on Big Sky on these forums for me to take a chance with that kind of money.

Of have they finally gotten their act together on delivery times and honest customer interactions?

Doug:

Lead times can still be long. The only change is that BS will now charge your credit card only when they are ready to ship.
