I understand that the fall issue of BPL magazine has gone out as of the 6th. How long on average does it usually take for people to get their copy? I was curious if it usually takes more than 6 days as I have not yet gotten my copy. Should I be concerned or is this a normal length of shipping time for BPL mag? If I should have gotten it, then what should I do(call customer support?)? Any info. would be appreciated.

Mine arrived this afternoon (and it looks pretty good, too – I’m anxious to start reading it.)

By the way, BPL’s customer service is excellent. I kept getting notices, for the last month or so, that my subscription was about to expire. I contacted them, explaining that I still had one issue left and there was no indication it would ship anytime soon – so would I still get it? Ms. Morstad was prompt and very reassuring in her replies (though she would have been justified in muttering “what a pest” or worse as she responded to several emails.)

I think I’ll go respond to one of those renewal requests now.

I had some issues (ha!) getting issue #4, but BPL customer service was really easy to deal with (and helpful). Wait until next week to see if it arrives, and then email BPL.

I am thinking they had an issue with sending out a blanket e mail notification regarding expired subscriptions prior to getting the complete subscription fulfilled for a lot of folks. I received 3 seperate e mails stating that I had to renew and I have only received 3 issues. I responded to the second e mail that I was frustrated they would end my subscription without fulfilling it…and no one responded. I will wait until when/if I get my final issue before I decide to renew!

I am in Texas and got mine today.

From my first look I believe the Print Magazine has dropped back to my impression of the first 3. Poor.

There is a “Trip Report” that Matt Hazley is going to try a 40 day AT Thru-Hike Record. This hike has been cancelled. I think Matt hurt himself so the hike will not take place in 2007 as first planned. This information has been out for several months.

And then there is all the dog stuff, pages and pages of it. I have had dogs, I like dogs, but now I have cats. Where is information on cats hiking?

Any more that I say might spoil your impression and I don’t want to do that.

It is like “hike your own hike”

Enjoy
