Hi folks,

Last winter I used a Neoair Regular with CCF down to 20F, this weighted in at about 28-30oz, the R value was probaly around 3.5, these trips where for 1 night only though so I knew I could take more of a risk.

I am looking to put together a system off between 6-7 R value but to have at least half as CCF, evacote or Aerogel in case of pad failure. Bulk is not a major issue as will be using bits as packs frames and a seat for breaks. These trips will be for two or more nights.

I currenlty own a Exped DM 9, Neoair short and regular and Z lite, but would sell one or two of them to finance something new.

I would be using a -20 rated bag.

Cheers,

Stephen

Hi folks,

The Neoair and Z lite will give an R value of about 4.7 so I wonder would encasing them in a AMK Heat sheet add any signifcant warmth improvement.

Cheers,

Stephen

I don't think the amk heat sheet is going to do much in the way of adding r value to your pads

the solar that eric mentions seems like a great bet w/ the neo for winter

Hi Guys,

The 6 R value of the Neoair and Ridgrest Solar do look promising.
I kind of guessed the Heat sheet wouldnt add much warmth.
Cheers,
Stephen

For frigid temps (below 10 F.) I'd recommend the Thermarest Trail Pro regular length. It is WARM!
