I just ordered the POE Peak Oyl Elite and a long Ridgerest Solar. I plan on cutting the solar down a bit. I will let everyone know how it works out and write up a review of the new POE pad when I get some good nights on it.

They claim an R8 at the torso and R5 at the feet. I doubt it's that high, but it's gotta be pretty decent.

I want to start off by saying that I sleep super COLD and I'm an idiot. I know I sleep cold yet I went out this weekend with a 15F down quilt that I wanted to try out. I normally would bring along my -20 down bag. The temps reached single digit overnight. I slept on a Neoair with a RR Solar on top. I didn't feel the slightest coldness from below. That combination is the bomb. I was on snow and in my tent. The Solar is sort of a pain to carry. It doesn't roll that small. Even though I froze it was not from my sleep pad.

Here's how cold I sleep. I used an enLIGHTened 15F down quilt, Goosefeet booties over wool socks, custom made Goosefeet down pants (3 oz down)over Cap 3 baselayer leggings, Cap 1 baselayer long sleeve under Cap 3 baselayer under Montbell Thermawrap vest under Montbell UL hooded down jacket for my upper half. My head was covered with ear protection, balaclava, down hood from the Montbell jacket and a JRB down hoody. AND yes I got no sleep because I was to cold. However, the pad combination kept my back comfortable.

Geez I got hot READING that, John.

IMO Neos are as warm as BA-IACs

Or should I say BA-IACs are as cold as NEOs…

I slept warmer on snow on my Neo than I ever have on my BA-IAC. no adn'l pad
