I moved to SW Michigan 2.5 years ago and started backpacking again after nearly a 10 year hiatus from the hobby. I’ve gotten my wife into backpacking but I haven’t convinced her on the whole ultra-light backpacking experience. I’m not quite an ultra-lighter yet, base weight is down to 13-14 lbs, but I’m working on it.
