Leukotape

I cut three or four 6" strips and stick them to wax paper, fold it up and put it in my first aid kit. I used to wrap a 2' strip around a cut down straw, but it took real effort to get it off the straw. The new method is a little heavier, but works better.

I roll about ten inches onto a piece of a straw. Tiny, light, and all I need.

I use sticker paper. It's like wax paper, but a bit thicker; it's the stuff that shipping labels are stuck to. I press the Leukotape to the paper in parallel strips, then cut to size. I roll them loosely inside a film roll canister. For a weekend, I'll usually carry about 1-1/2' of Leukotape this way. Film canisters are all but waterproof.

+1 for "sticker" backing.

I use the backing sheet that postage stamps come on.
Then, similar to Vincent, roll it, and stuff it in a McNett Repair vial.

The backing makes it very easy to cut and handle.

This was one of the best tips I've read here. Leukotape is a nightmare to unstick from itself in small rolls. The sticker backing has made life much easier.

The backing paper for labels is called release paper.

Sticker paper good. Wax Paper bad. In hot conditions the wax melts onto the Leukotype rendering it useless. I found this out the hard way.

Don't "buy" any of it. Just go to your local sign shop (like a FASTSIGNS) and ask for some. The vinyl they use for signs uses backer paper. I bet we throw away a dumpster full of the stuff every other week.

Just make sure you use the slick side of the paper. Its what I keep my Leukotape on.

I take the backing paper from mailing labels (aka backing paper, sticker paper, et al). I cut the Leukotape into circles about 5 cm in diameter, stick them to the backing, then cut the backing around it (leaving a couple mm's around the edge). I then put a few of them into my kit and they're ready for a quick application.
