Here is the picture I promised of the socks with the new Momentum 50 fabric. It is slightly see-through with a feel somewhere in between silnylon and Momentum 90.

The weight of a standard black M90 Large with 0.5oz of extra fill is 2.8oz (with stuffsack).

With the new fabric, they come in at 2.35oz (with stuffsack). A savings of 0.45oz!

So, with this fabric, you can basically negate the weight of the overstuff!

Ben, really looking forward to getting mine with the M50 fabric. I got a pair from you last year and have great results with them. I've used them down to 15 degrees and my feet have been toasty warm. I've bought several pairs to give my friends as birthday gifts and all of them have been very suprised with the warmth to weight ratio. Plus the durability of the over shell.

I have friends that their birthday has not come around yet. But, are hinting as to the fact that the booties are what they want as a gift.

I forgot to ask, are those mine in the picture you posted?

Ben, is this something that you are going to make as standard? I would think it would be well requested. I know living here in big orange country, it would definitely be an item that I would be very interested in ordering to give out as gifts.

The thing is with down booties is that the recipient doesn't have to be a backpacker to receive these. Anyone that has the tendency to get cold feet at home can use these.

They would be great to wear to any outside event during the colder months.

One year I bought down booties for everyone in my family. One of the best received gifts ever. Easiest xmas shopping ever.

Once this limited run is over, I will consider carrying it as a standard fabric in the spring. The price will go up, as it is more expensive than M90.

You can always specify custom fabric, though. I can do an entire Dyneema X pair if you wanted, cuben fiber, silnylon, or any other fabric.
