I always take a 4 liter water bag. That’s enough for one day. Sometimes I’ll fill it up, then walk a mile or two to a campsite.
I’ve used the Platypus 4 liter water bag but they don’t seem to make it anymore. 3.7 ounces. It cost something like $35. I’ve always thought that was an excessive price for a plastic bag but I didn’t see anything better.
After a few years the plastic gets yellow so I buy another.
I saw this on amazon https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07M84GZC5?ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_fed_asin_title
$10 for two of them. 2.3 ounces. It says it’s 5 liters but it’s only a little bigger than 4 liters, which is actually better as far as I’m concerned. It’s supposedly food grade PE. Has a neutral smell. I’ll try it on my next trip. I like that it weighs 1.4 ounces less than the platypus – it’s always seemed like that bag is excessively heavy.
It says the manufacturer is WaterStorageCube (which operates under the corporate entity Strategic Enterprises, Inc.) is headquartered in Cape Coral, Florida. Manufactured in China.
Anyone have another 4 liter bag?
