Here's one I could find of me with the Sunrunner:
1

I think the white flaps give it a nice T.E. Lawrence vibe…
2

Sunday Afternoon hats…err, a little matronly in my opinion…
3

:)
But I don't think the mountains care.
In fact, the Queen's hat might be best.

Bold boonie hat in sand. guess it would be the only thing cotton i take into the field. wearing it with a fleece headband extends its temp range. while not waterproof it stands up to rain pretty well and gives great sun protection.

That's what I've been using since I moved to Colorado 10+ yrs ago now and on all my longer walks. $10, water and snow resistant, keeps the sun off me and did I mention it was cheap? :) (Customs 'lost' one on me when I went abroad on a vacation a few years back!!!)

Fried Chicken

(Fried chix optional!)

"Made" my wife, Pat, model her large sized hat.

For reference, she is 4'11".

Hope this gives you a good idea of the coverage that it provides.

On my trips, I don't put on sunscreen at all as I find that the coverage is pretty solid all the way around.

I LOVE my Patagonia Sun Hoody:

I use for high sierra skiing. It's great b/c it's deep set and you can pull your face way back in it. Also, since it's a hood, you can pull it on and off w/ no hassle and it won't blow away. I'm actually going to use it for long surf sessions in Baja as well.
