The first release of the SPOT 2 had significant problems and was recalled. When reading a review (like the one copied by Steve O copied from another site), it’s important to make sure you know if they are talking about SPOT 1, SPOT 2 pre-recall, or SPOT 2 post-recall version. Our field testing was with the SPOT 2 post-recall version.

It is a fair criticism of the company that they released SPOT 2 before it was ready. As I understand it, there were serious reliability complaints from many users, not like the obscure sticky-gas-pedal problem Toyota had.
