One of a kind experience

Well, this post is essentially a trip report, but then again, thats like saying that our hikes are "just" hikes.

This report is long, with pics etc. but I wanted this to be in a predominant location. I wanted to see what kind of feedback and introspection it generates, because frankly, the three of us who were involved were affected deeply by our interaction with the individual involved. Sounds mysterious eh?

There have been many links and responses with regards to how UL practices have or haven't had an impact on our day to day lives. Well, this trip seems to have touched on that vein. Either way it will interesting to see what what comes about.

I'm trying to link this to my site, which is new and under construction. I hope it connects correctly. And for those of you who are looking for something religous, its the Gospel Humps, no the "Gospel". But then again? Read on and see.

Everyone I've met who has chosen such a radically different way of life has been very memorable. Off the grid is a commitment! I spent a couple weeks this summer house sitting an off the grid organic farm. I think I missed pooping indoors the most- especially if I were dropping it in an Idaho winter!. Very cool pack too. If you go back to visit him he'd probably love the company.

That's an awesome story. What an incredible man. People like that have an awesome inner power that is so inspiring.

I met a similar man on my PCT hike last year. I met him in the campground in Mammoth. Said he had cancer and lost all his money trying to pay his hospital bills so he just dropped out of society.

I have often thought of leading that kind of lifestyle, or a similar lifestyle. Perhaps something like van living. I have a stack of Zines called Dwelling Portably with all kinds of info on how to live at the margins of society.
