Not that I really need yet another pack, and by no means is this puppy a lightweight pack……..

But has anyone here owned, used, or seen this pack in action. I'm talking a recent model 2009 or 2010 Glacier pack? I like everything about it, other than the color choices and weight. I'd like it in Forest Green and at about 5-6 lbs total weight.

Don't get me wrong- I'm not a UL purist, and am generally happy carrying a heavier pack that has the features I want and carries really well. But an almost 7 lb pack w/ less than 70 L capacity? Seems like a bit much. I guess if you were carrying 20-30 L of water it might make sense…?

I've wanted to try out one of the 3zip packs like the Snapdragon for a while, probably more as a big day/commuting pack rather than for backpacking, but a neat looking pack. Probably not get used enough to be worth the coin, at least for me.

Yeah, but there's a reason the pack weighs what it does, its built like a tank, and would probably last 2 persons lifetimes of hard use.
The volume is probably spot on as well, and not overrated, like some packs tend to be.I could easily do a 9 day trip, with this pack. If there's one thing I've learned, its that a fully framed pack is easier on the body, especially when carrying heavier loads on longer trips.
