Pat, between the alti mitts and the SV bib, it looks like you have a summit bid on everest :) I was eyeballing the altis once at REI's used gear sale. Something like 50 bucks…but I didn't pull the trigger because I could never imagine a situation where I would need something that warm. They are crazy warm/bulky

I got them for $159.99 so i just could not say no. Being new to extensive outdoor trips in the winter i figure i had better be over prepared as apposed to under. I would like to do a multi day presidential traverse amongst other trips in the whites this winter and i dont wanna have to stay home cuz it is to cold or the weather is crap. I may not be climbing Everest anytime soon as i dont quite have 50 g's to pay so i can play! I however will do stuff like mckinley, Aconcagua, Rainier and stuff of that sort. Figure the whites is a good place to get my feet wet first. Plus i run cold like real cold.

Well today Santa (UPS) dropped off my new Cloudveil Enclosure jacket so I will be testing that out. Not the lightest jacket out there but I needed a synthetic piece. Also went and got a Black Diamond Cosmo and I love it already. Can't beat a headlamp with a dimming feature

I just recently ordered at 15*F Marmot Helium for a great price, also have a M.B. Alpine Light Parka on the way. Things are cool because I buy my own Christmas presents and get cash back for them!
