I could have sworn I read on BPL where WM was coming out with a new 5-0z down bootie, a bit lighter then the "standard" bootie and quite a bit lighter then their Expedition bootie.

Has anyone else heard anything about this? I need to know before I decide to buy, thanks!

Yeah, it's coming out in Jan. 2011. After doing some cost calculations, and being too impatient for their release (as I need booties for the upcoming season) I went ahead with goosefeet down socks. Just got my downsocks in today, and so far I'm very happy

But anyhow, here is the info on the flash bootie

BTW, i didnt take these screenshot/pdf's of the member content. I simply googled what i recalled about the product and this was the result that came up. No clue who did the converting

do they offer any overboot for it? I like the feathered friend setup w/ bootie and overboot, something for around camp in the snow

That's what it looks like to me, at 3 oz it cannot have a very thick CCF "sole" but there is something on the bottom so it might work for light use around camp & late night bathroom calls which is what I am looking for.

Take a look at Goose Feet: http://goosefeet.webs.com/products.htm
My down booties plus waterproof over-booties (which you can wear to go outside in rain or snow) weigh 3.7 oz.
