REI outlet has a few models (725, 730, 925, 1225) on sale with an extra 22% off.

I'm looking mostly for snowshoeing in the north east.

thanks!

I picked up the Atlas 1230 (2009 version) from mountaingear.com on sale about a month ago.

That seems to be the most all-round shoe for what I was looking for… rolling hills and steep climbs due to the aggressive crampons. Haven't used them yet can't wait for the snow to hit. The lacing system sold me

I also bought the '09 Green 1230's about a month ago. Patiently waiting to try them out! If the 25" will hold your weight, I'd go for it!

I own both Atlas 30" 'shoes and MSR Lightning Ascent 30" 'shoes.

I much prefer the lateral stability of the MSR 'shoes.
