Hey, I was wondering, and I've seen it on here before, but I don't have the puter savy to pull it off, how does one put a trip report into a link that will open when you click on it, versus pasting the entire report into the thread? Or do you have to have your own website or server space to pull that off? Thanks!

    Hey Steve,

This is how you do the link — Put all 4 of the below pieces together with NOSPACES in between:
    (1) WINTER IS COMING – Seven Days on the John Muir Trail
    (4)

This is what you are doing:
    (1) HTML
    (2) "YOUR LINK BETWEEN THESE QUOTES"
    (3) >WHAT YOU WANT THE LINK TO SAY
    (4)

    That should give you this:
WINTER IS COMING – Seven Days on the John Muir Trail

I'm pretty sure I understand this now, but can I do this with a document? ie having a trip report in a word doc, and if I can, is the path to its location substituted for the url? I think I was unsure of how to link something if it's not "online". Is that still feasible?

Yes. A link has to point to something accessible.
