I used a Folite Poncho Tarp for 12 months (every weekend), then went to a tent, and now I am back to a tarp. My current tarp is an ID 8×10. I have a question about setup – I have pitched my tarp in all types of configurations, but lately the simple A-Frame using the 8' length as the ridge line seems to make the most sense. It is simple, neat, only requires two guy lines, hiking poles and 10 Ti stakes (or less). Is there a drawback to the simple A-Frame setup that I am missing?
