Light, suitable for bushwacking without
making a lot of noise, waterproof/breath
able.

Or a source for the fabric so I can make
my own.

So far the best I have found is

but it doesn't give a weight.

The REI Ultra Light Pants have a nice finish on them that's not shiny and noisy like most rain gear. Plus they have some 2 way stretch to them and come in different inseam lengths. I have an older pair that's not as nice as the new ones, and they have held up well to bushwacking, sitting on rocks, kneeling, etc. 11 oz. 2.5 layer PU. They breathe fine for me, but I'm not as picky about that on pants as I am for jackets.

I did think of quiet hunting clothing right away. I haven't seen the ones like the Cabela'— most hunting stuff is not UL. They do have good customer service, so you're covered if they don't live up to the claim. And you can look like one of the trees in "The Two Towers." :)

I wonder if soft shell pants would do the trick– how much waterproofing is the question there.

Thanks, I will check out the REI ones and westcomb.

I need them for Pacific Northwest bushwacking. I use
softshell pants already, but when heading through wet
willow and alder they don't stay dry one minute.

Have a look at Paramo pants. They don't have a membrane, so are soft to the hand.
They are comfortable next to skin. The downside is that they are quite warm due to their double layer, so i find them a cold weather item.
