I’m looking at the Pacific Outdoor Equipment Insulmat matress, 2.5 inches of inflated softness. They have two versions, the one-season mattress (17 oz) and the three-season thermo one (22 ounces).
Are those five extra ounces and bulk worth the price? I can see myself doing one-night spring camping on mountains where the temperature may drop in the 20f. Wouldn’t a ground cover + the regular mattress + my sleeping bag (MontBell Super Strech Hugger #3, rated to 14f) be enough?
I mean, if the thermo version will really have a noticeable effect I would not mind the added weight/bulk. I just don’t know.
