I believe that it is true that ID no longer offers their MK1 made from eVent fabric. First of all, why is this?

Secondly, since everything that I have read about the fabric makes it sound like the ideal fabric for a single wall tent, are there any tents out there made from it? If not, why not?

eVent used in tents doesn’t pass fire retardancy laws for many states or Canada. Because the inside of a tent could be used for cooking, I believe, is the reason why its still used for bivy sacks and clothing. Big Agnes discontinued their Sarvis eVent tent, but (given where you live), you can still pick one up at a discount on several different websites. There are other companies that use similar fabrics (possibly even the same, but unnamed) like Exped and Outdoor Designs. If you look through the archives of the forum, you’ll see lots of other information on the subject.
