both great, light pieces of gear…but should I be worried about durability while wearing them with a 25lb pack (osprey 44)?

Mine is 6 years old and has been used a ton. Much tougher than I would have thought when I got it.

mine is only two years old, but as light (and useful!) as it is- it appears to be relatively tough

I don't think you have any worries w/ it

I agree on the houdini. Mine is only a few months old, but it looks brand new, even after a month long bushwhacking trip in the yukon where it was worn everyday. It has taken a ton of use and a fair amount of abuse and is in excellent condition.

I wore mine under my pack for a few weeks on the PCT. I don't see any sign of wear. I've worn it through wild roses and thought for sure it would rip to shreds but still no sign of wear. I do try to take great care of it anyway.

I wore my Houdini all winter, spring, and summer. No wear at all so far. I even caught it in my belay device while rappelling and no damage to the fabric. Just a big black mark that cleaned right off with a little water.

i have the (T)NF Diad, same fabric to the Anorak. Had it almost two years, carried it everyday and wore it almost that. Worn it 350 or so days hiking, climbing, doing trail work, wearing it pretty hard, as i made it work as windshirt and midlayer over a baselayer a lot. A little scuffed from climbing, but still sheds rain over those spots. Carried it another 300 days, wearing it as a windshirt nearly every morning on my bicycle rides to work in the cold predawn. No real problems yet suprisingly for a 2-ply. some minor fabric wear/separation under my wrists where it rubs on my handlebars, but no biggie. a few small thorn holes from use while trimming thorny desert trees in the rain–but these haven't opened up much and doesn't really let more than a couple drops of water in during a downpour, so i never did anything with them. couple burn holes on the back.
No packstrap problems, and those trail maintenance packs are rediculous :p
it ain't no hard or soft shell, but this thing is still very functional.
Also, I don't think the Anorak would cut it for me. I need the whole zipper.
when did TNF come out with the Prophecy–all i remember is the anorak and the diad?
