trip ideas: 9/20-26

I'm looking for trip suggestions. I've got a week, not counting an extra travel day on each end, to do a hike in the Sierras at the end of the month. Two people, I'm the weaker hiker and good for an average of 10 – 12 miles a day on trail or on mellow off trail (e.g., much of Desolation), although we'd prefer to be off-trail and high as much as possible. We're willing to carry bear cans. Only one car, so a loop or easy commercial shuttle would be preferable.

I'm hitting the books and web to look for ideas now, but I'd be grateful for everybody's suggestions.
