You call that new? Light. Cheap. Disposable. Nothing new. Where is the innovation!? :P

Just kidding. Please don’t hit me :)

Thanks Jeff. Always great to see what’s new from Ron! This one was a total surprise.

It’s pretty tough for a .6 fabric! Much stronger than 1.35 Silnylon. As a semi real world test, I find I can push a Vargo 6.5″ Ti stake with a fairly tight/semi sharp tip through 1.35 silnylon and various other silicone and PU coated spinnakers in the .9-1.0 weight range with less force than the .6 Spectralite. Rubbing it around on various ground matter and branches, it catches a bit less as it it a hardened film that slips over things a little easier and resists snags.(As it gets used and creased a lot, this anti snag decreases some.) That said, it is still an ultralite material and requires resonable care for a long service life. It is very easily patchable and duct tape sticks well. I supply a special 5″X 5″ fiber reinforced peel and stick repair material just in case. For serious inquiries only (it’s expensive), send a sase for a small sample of the Spectralite.60, spinnaker and silnylon to test yourself to my address on the website. Note: I tried a lot of cuben weights and settled on this as the lightest I felt possible to ensure long service life of the product by a range of users.

Ron,

That thing looks very nice! I like the little tabs on the shoulder straps – I had been griping about having to attach a full length “daisy chain” of webbing or grosgrain to have attachment points – palm met forehead when I saw your solution.

How can i resist? Ron does it again. This is, I think, the new “G6”—the new paradigm for leading (hopefully, not bleeding) edge UL packs.

That’s commercially made packs, Bill. :-)>

That Bolivar Belicoso Fino looks delicous. Don’ get that too close to your Cuben fabric or POOF!

kevin, I am really happy to see Ron using Cuben material. For a “commercially made pack” it looks good.

I believe I have some of that Cuben Fiber like he is using for his pack. I have three Cuben products that are 0.6 oz, 0.98 oz and 6 oz a sq yard. When he said it costs a lot, try $29 to $32 a yard.

I think he may also have a winner in his new Hammock.
