For hanging your pack you can try this scale for $6.99 shipped at meritline. For smaller stuff I have a Myweigh Triton T2 and a 7001DX. Myweigh makes extremely nice scales for the $.

I tried the two above – they are $20 and $25 shipped. They have a cooler design, but are 0.1oz instead of 0.05 (although still 1g, and either precision is plenty for me), and the raised tray of the $15 scale looks better for bulky items that will hang off.
