I have a Snowpeak trek 700 pot with lid into which I put a small cannister along with the SP gigapower stove and a rolled up titanium windscreen. The mesh stuff sack that came with it does not do a good job of keeping everything together. Any suggestions for keeping the lid on so the contents of the pot stays put? I posted this question some time ago but have not found a good solution and am looking for new ideas.

one idea for you is to find an old bicycle inner tube (bike shop will give you one) and cut it lengthwise keeping oval intact and cut to fit pot for a super elastic
Bike tires not a bad idea.
What about a large Rubber band, or small pieces of electrical tape or Duct tape?
If you put it on your trekking poles you can easily replace it using the same piece.
I use a rubberband on all my SP kits (450/600/900)- about the lightest option that works that I could find
If you are using a canister stove, you really don't need to bring the lid with you. A small square of aluminum foil works fine for my use.
For most trips, I fold a bandanna in half, and use it to wrap the fuel canister, stove, mini bic, foil lid and windscreen before putting it all in the SP 700 pot. It fits in semi-tight, then the net bag works just fine since it's all together already.
In the winter the GSI or sea to summit insulated plastic mugs fit inside the 700 perfectly. Stove, windscreen and other stuff go inside of the mug and the canister then has to go on top, but it still all fits nicely in the mesh bag.
I used a rubber band back when I carried the lid, but haven't really seen a need for it. Maybe if I cooked over a fire?
I keep my 700 in a cozy, and put all of it inside a homemade silnylon stuff sack. Also, I use an aluminum foil lid, just fold it in half and put it inside with the stove and fuel canister.

Like others have suggested I would say lose the lid. It is heavy and not necessary. Foil works great and you may find other uses for it, making it dual use and lighter than the lid that came with this great pot. BTW among the numerous cooking setups I have this is by far the one I use most often.
