Does anyone know if a Thermarest Chair Kit will work with a CCF like a ridgerest for example??

Yep, it works. It will be a bit less firm than with an inflatable pad but it works fine.

yes they fit, and you end up with something much like the original crazy creek chairs, which kind of slumps around you but still holds you up.

not the same experience as using a well inflated thermarest

I have a "Jerry Chair" which was developed by a member over on hammockforums.net. If you or a friend/family member have any sewing skills you can make one to fit any pad you may have, regardless of size. It takes a couple minutes to make and can be made with any material you like. Mine weighs in at 2 oz and is used with my trekking poles and Thermarest Lite Seat which serves as my sit pad and foot insulation in my hammock. It is actually VERY comfortable too once you find the "sweet spot."
