i don't see many north west trip reports, and then i realized… i haven't put any up… ever… so
i got a call from my wife: "headin to the fam's in Shelton. see you tomorrow" so i get out of work around 3:30 rush home, pack a bag and head to the trail head. i get there at 6pm: 6.5miles, 3800 feet of elevation gain, and 3hrs till dark.

got there just in time to see the sun set and the moon rise. that's a very long exposure time showing my camp and the moon in the background.

i came in through deception creek. the trail is in very good condition until you start to climb Tonga ridge. lots of blow-downs and from Tonga to fisher. after finding the fisher lake trail (if you could call it that) it became a route finding disaster. i ended up just bushwhacking to the lake when the trail disappeared. after i got to the lake i found the trail again and discovered i had followed a game trail around the wrong side of a rise. thank you Burton brace plate. got there and back in less than 24hr and my wife loves the flower i brought her too!!
