So sitting on the couch one cold and dreary New England winter night my wife and I decided we should plan a summer trip out west. Going through our options we finally ended on the Tetons. The decision turned into one of the best hikes we have ever completed. here are some photo's of our 3 day 40 mile loop this past weekend starting and ending in Jenny Lake.

Day one started cool with some rain in the parking lot

hiking around Jenny lake the sun came out to reveal a beautiful day

Gear Notes…

Pack's: ULA Circuit and GG Mariposa Plus. Our choice of framed packs turned out to be a good choice as it allowed us to carry more comfort items

Shelter: TT Double Rainbow. Our second night out was pretty buggy so the full shelter was nice to have. We were also finishing our daily mileage pretty early so it provided a nice place to hang out

Cooking: Tri Ti with esbit and MSR Titain Kettle. Wish I had brought rei windproof matches and the 10-12 setup. Even in the most sheltered area's getting the darn esbit to light was a challenge

Clothing: We wore long sleeve sun shirts and pants which proved to be a great decision due to bugs. At a few stops they were pretty rough and not needing to load up with deet was nice. Also on the last day out the sun was super intense and the coverage was welcome.

Looking like you had some great terrain and stellar conditions on that trip, wished I was there with you guys.

You don't even know how appealing rotten snow in July looks to this displaced yank right now.

Cool stuff Jonathan…Esbit tabs are great but you sure do need a almost perfect environment for them to work efficiently and properly… Nothing like some good time with the wifey-Nice!
