I have extra permit space for a 24 mi. casual semi-loop hike out of Twin Lakes/Robinson Creek Trailhead on Thurs. July, 22nd. I have permit space for 6 and only 3 confirmed at this point. Will be bringing the fishing rods and a good book. I know it is short notice, but I had some people bail due to work conflicts, ect.

I mistakenly posted a trip announcment in trip reports, but now I actually have a report on Hoover Wilderness area. We started at Twin Lakes and hiked up to Robinson Lakes to do some fishing and relaxing, but due to the skeeters, we were only able to get a little fishing in. The mosquitoes were horrible, they weren't very big yet, but what they lacked in size they made up for in volume and aggresiveness! I haven't seen mosquitoes this bad in a long time. We hiked a loop over Rock Island Pass up Kerrick Meadow and over to Peeler Lake, the scenery was stunning. We were going to stay at Peeler Lake, but after inhaling a couple hundred blood suckers, we booked it out to Twin Lakes. This was a pretty area that I will visit again someday, later in the season or in a drier year.
