I apologize for not knowing how to place a real "link" but the fabric looks interesting, if it's not all hype.

Just as long as I don't see UL'ers wrapping themselves up *only* in saran wrap just to outdo this in weight!
Don't know a darned thing about it, but if its worth anything, BPL will take note!
"high tearing strength (max. 900g)"
Hmmm, wonder what this means…
Since the website shows a jacket, it'll also be interesting to hear reviews on how abrasion resistant it is to shoulder straps.
Since the fabric itself is just being announced, I doubt we'll see any actual clothing for some time to come.
If Montbell's 15 denier is anything to go by, they won't be making any smoking jackets from it.
The picture of the garment in the background appeared to be "see through".
About time.
I get tired of waiting for the Tshirts to get drenched by rain.
The pants could be interesting as well.
The website states that it is armed with "light rain resistance". I guess it's not 100% waterproof. This could make for a very ultralight windproof top. I wonder how fragile this fabric is though.

I just contacted them for a sample. We'll see if i can get some to test.

Yeah it says "durable water repellent" in the image at that link.
i would love a lighter weight material for breathable quilts! It would rock if my cuben VB quilts were only a tad lighter than my breathable quilts. Hopefully i'll get to test some.

Says nothing about breathability, so very likely windproof, rain resistant, and non-breathable. Like the old Golite windshirts and the current Montbell UL ones (which Ryan Jordan christened "sauna fabrics"). If true, then I for one am not interested in a lighter weight sauna fabric. The saran wrap is already the gold standard.
Anybody have a better link for this?
I can't get it to come up.
From the article, it doesn't sound like it's anything more than 5 denier nylon with a DWR coating. That'll be light for sure, but not that much lighter than existing fabrics like Montbell's 7 denier nylon then use in the ExLight and other jackets.
The breathability of this fabric should be good unless they wreck it with a really thick coating like montbell's windshirts. Low denier nylon with a DWR coating is normally fairly breathable ie. Montbell Ex Light.
