I bought from bpl, and the stated weight was 14-15g less than the actual weight. I bought the largest one, on two different scales it game up as 40g each, i would not have bought these if i knew they were that much heavier than my current dry bags. So i wasted money on this, now i have something i will never use. I can send them back for a full refund, but they will not be in the origonal plastic packaging. Can someone from support contact me about this issue.

Ike, please fill out a customer support request by clicking "My Account" and then "Manage My Support Issues" and we'll get this straightened out.

From time to time our vendors change their manufacturing process and the weights on their items change. I apologize the listed weights were not what you expected and I will accommodate you for this.

Thanks, Sam

This thread prompted me to check the weight of the new package of Aloksak OP sacks that I just bought at REI–the large (10" x 20") size.

Last year's OP sacks were 1.3 ounces each. This year's are 1.5 oz. each. For you metric folks, that's an 8.5 gram weight gain. They definitely feel thicker and heavier, too. I doubt that the heavier plastic will make them last any longer because they usually fail at the closure.

I'll obviously be using the smaller (9"x 12") bags, 1 oz. each, for short trips!

I use them for food storage so there really isn't another option beyond multiple ziplock bags at pretty much the same weight.

Mary, so are the new OP sacks more similar in feel to the regular Aloksak? The ones I got last year are much thinner.

Hmmm, I'll have to head to REI sometime and check them out.
