I have been using a Caldera Cone, but wanted to try a lighter weight and more compact stove system to use with a BPL Firelite 550 pot (w/ handles). I have been looking at the T's Side B Stove or the Gram Weenie PRO. Does anyone have experience with either of these stoves?

(BTW- I typically boil between 8 and 12 oz of water)

You may be interested in checking out my review of the Gram Weenie PRO. I continue to use it and have been very pleased with it. The only change that I have made to my setup is to ditch the hardware cloth support and use an aluminum flashing windscreen instead. This has worked well for me with my 0.9 evernew titanium pot with handles. I cut the windscreen so that the handles rest lightly on the top edge of it when sitting on the stove. Fits perfectly in my pot. After trying aluminium foil windscreens for a couple of years I found it annoying to have my windscreen flapping in the breeze. Problem solved with aluminum flashing.

If you have any specific questions about the Gram Weenie Pro let me know. It really is a very consistent performer at such a light weight and small size.

I just made a Gram Weenie the other day, it weighs in at .3oz or 10 grams. I use a Snow Peak 600 Ti mug and the weenie will boil 2 cups of water in around 7 min with no wind factor on 2/3oz of alcohol and will continue to burn for another 1-2 min after the water starts to boil. Here's a pic of it with my SP 600 mug:

I use a gram weenie, from end2end. It doubles as a pot stand for my stanco grease pot. I just use some aluminum foil and a couple twigs stuck in the dirt for a wind screen. Also aluminum foil for a lid.

I don't think it gets much lighter than this setup. Or cheaper! I think I've got like $20 invested in my whole cooking system. It is still pretty durable though. The one I got from e2e is riveted together. It has quite a few dents and dings/crushes that definitely would have made my past heiny can alcohol stoves leak around the "seal". Oh it is press fitted too so no seals or anything to break down/add weight.

It looks like the Gram Weenie PRO gets great marks, has anyone used the Side B?

Thanks to everyone for their comments thus far.

The Gram Weenie Pro works good for a broader cook pot. The Side B works good for a narrower cook pot.

I love my SideB stove. I have regularly boiled 16 ounces of water at 300' to 12000' in the unhandled 550. The handle will help in stabilizing the pot on the stove a ton I'm sure.

I ordered a Gram Weenie Pro, but I am still thinking about ordering a Side B as well just to compare the two.

Jack, – how much fuel do you use to boil two cups (on avg)?

what is the difference between that stove and the whitebox stove. They look alike

I think the Gram Weenie is a smaller variation of the white box stove.

Bradford, althou I do like my Side B, I wouldn't buy another if it lost or damaged. IMHO, the $30 is not worth it for want you get. They're cheaper options that probably work just as well.

For about 16 ounces I've used anywhere from 20cc to about 25cc depending on temperature, primer pan use, etc.

Its perfect with the 550. If handles are for not burning your hands, you dont even need them as that thin titanium cools very quick.
