Nevermind : P

Anther question..
How many tinderquik should I bring for emergency firestarting?

Also, for baseweight.. Do you add just the weight of the minidropper without anything in it (considering soap, aquamira as "consumables").

I don't bring any "emergency" fire starting supplies. Hand sanitizer burns well (be sure to get the highest alcohol concentration you can find) and a stove burns longer than any tinder you can carry in. If you want to carry something just for emergencies I'd figure 2 or 3 should be enough for most situations. However, practice is really the most important thing when it comes to fire building.

As far as base weight goes I do it exactly like you said. But even if you include little things like toothpaste you won't skew the number that much.

In theory, the drop stopper bottle is not a consumable and should thus be counted as part of base weight. In practice, it doesn't really matter where you classify the bottle — base weight is fine, pack weight is fine as well.

Ditto with water bottles.

I carry fire striker, five tinders, one Wetfire chemical starter, a pack of matches, and a mini Bic lighter with me.
