Salomon XA Pro 3D – 2 models?

I'm pretty sure the links you gave all show the same "model" but from different angles so that the offset lacing is not as obvious.

Until 2009 all Salomon shoes had the offset lacing.
In 2010 they began replacing the offset lacing with a standard lace pattern – but with the same quick lace system.

2009 and earlier offset lace models are basically closeouts and should be cheaper.
the new 2010 model will be harder to find at a discount.

If you buy, make sure you are certain which model you are getting.

I personally don't like the offset lacing very much. It tugged on my toe a bit, and I always redid the laces the standard way (a small pain but doable).

p.s.
I'm not even the certain the XA Pros went to the standard lacing, haven't seen them. The Salomon Wings, XA Comp, and a couple others are now standard lacing.

I believe you're looking at the picture incorrectly. The part you think is wrapping around a stub near the toes is actually just the excess cord, except it's looped under the rest of the laces instead of hanging loose.

You are looking at two different years of Salomon XA Pro 3D's. Last year, and years previous, the XA Pro had asymmetrical lacing. This year they switched to a conventional lacing pattern. The same goes for most of there trail running shoes.
