I am about to design and make my first tarp, and I will probably pattern after an existing tarp. My main two questions at the moment are what seam method and tape are recommended for the ridgeline? From what I have read in this forum 3m VBH 1 inch one sided and .5 inch double sided with primer 94 has been suggested. The primer is particularly hard to get ahold of. has anyone had success buying a smaller amount than a case?
The method: felded, simple overlaping, stitched? I watched a sail making youtube that offered some good ideas on how to achieve a straight flat seam. they used 1/2 inch Venture tape. I wonder if this is not used by tarp makers because of weight?
