I have been considering one of the Zebralight headlamps since my Tikka has gone missing. The one thing I don't like the looks of is the piece that holds the light to the headband. It looks like a cheep piece of foam or something that would not hold the light at any given angle for too long without some movement. Can anyone speak to the usability of the Zebralights when they are used as headlamps?

That headlamp bracket is silicone and the white-ish ones glow in the dark. I want one too :)
I have one. The headband works well, and the zebra throws out a ton of light. My primary complaint is that the pushbutton is way too easy to accidentally activate, so I was always wearing down batteries lighting up the inside of my pack/pocket/etc. I now carry light and battery separately.
I know that at least one of the Zebralights has a lock-out feature. You unscrew the battery cap a half turn or so and the light is locked out and does not turn on accidentally.
I got this one: http://www.zebralight.com/H31w-Headlamp-Neutral-White_p_29.html
So far it's my ultimate backpacking headlight. Strong high beam should you need it. Low low beam for camp. Medium beam plenty for most walking. Great user interface. Light. Great balance between flood and throw. And the warm emitter does much more natural color rendition.
I found the edge of the beam a little sharp and distracting when I walked. Put Glad Press and Seal on the lens as a diffuser, now perfect. And if ever in a situation where I need max throw, I can just peel it off.
Highly recommend. And I'm not a fanboy who likes every product.
