Not cheap, and only available in one color but… 150 g/m2 superfine merino (18.5 micron ) from New Zealand.

The Rain Shed (http://www.therainshed.com) also sells merino by the yard, the lightest being 4.8 oz/yard, so not quite as light as what you found.
