Snowshoe recommendations

You want something with a lot of surface area (some mix of width and length) to provide flotation. Wooden frame snowshoes provide better flotation than plastic or metal framed snowshoes but do not provide the traction that the crampons and/or serrated edges typical of the plastic or metal framed models.
