I'm in the process of trying to simplify my clothing, especially for the summer. Seem to be very few LW options for clothing, and what is tends not be my style, plus they're pricey.

Here's my solution: A pair of shorts inspired by Thai Fisherman's pants. A little rough around the edges, but 2.5oz complete. Has a built in belt. One size fits most. Extremely comfortable and non-restrictive.

These could by lighter, but made them from like 1.8/9oz Jo-Anns DWR Ripstop. It's a good compromise of durability and comfort I think. I've been using them working out in the yard the past few days, working with brambles and such, and they're holding up great.

No, but you can find some on the net. A friend of mine made fisherman's pants before and told me the basic dimensions.

I used a giant bamboo bowl turned upside down to mark the curve of the legs.

They look comfy but isn't that material a bit hot to wear?

I don't find them hot at all. Why would they be? It's thin, breathable material with lots of ventilation and a baggy fit (the great aspect of the fisherman's pant design).

They're not made of sil, it's just lightly dwr'd ripstop.
